Kew's rock gardens

Last week, I visited the magnificent Kew Gardens in London, mainly to check out their festival about edible plants – IncrEdibles – but I also couldn’t resist revisiting their rock gardens and alpine house. On my first visit last year, I was most impressed by this area and took home a lot of inspiration for my own modest ‘rock garden’ with alpines and succulents.

This Sempervivum calcareum, with its bright red-and-green rosettes, wouldn't look out of place in my collection of saxifrages, sedums, silenes, ice plants, and other sempervivums.
