September dew

September’s here. Days are becoming shorter, and nights chillier. When I make my morning round through the garden, the grass is now usually still moist, veiled under a thin sheet of dew. And, if I’m lucky, the watery sun tries to break its way through a low-hanging mist, covering every little detail in a gorgeous light. It’s the time of year when dew drops transform the edges of leaves and spider’s webs into enchanting jewels. In this photo, summer still shines through in the background, where cornflowers, yellow daisies and other wildflowers still grow prolifically. But, quite frankly, I can’t wait for autumn to really set in and revamp all that grows into a fiery red and orange colour feast.
